Let's Get to Know Each Other!

At our first few meetings, we take the time to understand your goals and personal style. You'll have a chance to get to know our work by browsing our portfolio and asking questions. Your Bigfoot team will ask about your budget and financing, timeline, and what features you'd like to have in your new home. If you have inspiration photos or home plans you love, please bring them with you. This helps us determine whether to move forward with our explorers services package or the full custom-build project.

Homesite

Your Home's Location

You'll need to finalize a website before we can determine your home's floor plan and exact cost. We offer "Explorer Services" to provide a site visit to review the topography, utilities, cost of permits, placement, and size restrictions. Receive a realistic assessment of what you'll be able to achieve within your budget. We can even offer realistic architectural floor plans. From there, you can choose to take that info with you or continue in the custom-build process with us!

Concept & Collaboration

With the home site finalized, we begin shaping the overall design of your home. We establish a clear styling direction and review preliminary selections that reflect your taste, lifestyle, and budget. Our design team works closely with the architect to coordinate floor plans, exploring layouts and flow through preliminary floor plan sketches. This collaborative phase brings your vision into focus and sets the direction for detailed design.

Design Development

Architecture, Floor Plans, etc.

The concept takes shape, we move into refining the details. This phase focuses on selecting finishes, fixtures, and materials while ensuring harmony between the exterior and interior of the home. Floor plans are finalized, and design decisions are thoughtfully coordinated with structural and architectural elements. The result is a cohesive, well-resolved design that balances beauty, function, and buildability.

Selections & Documentation

Detail Design Choices & Billing

With the design fully developed, we guide you through final selections with clarity and confidence. Each choice is reviewed for style, performance, and cost, providing pricing transparency and minimizing surprises. All selections are carefully documented in detailed selection sheets that serve as a clear reference for both you and the build team. This step ensures everyone is aligned before construction begins.

Build Support

The Construction Phase

During construction, our design team remains actively involved. We maintain ongoing collaboration with your Project Manager and trade partners to support design intent and address questions as they arise. This integrated approach helps ensure selections are installed correctly and design details are executed as planned. Our goal is a smooth build process with clear communication throughout.

Final Styling & Close-Out

Optional Furnishing and Decor & Making Memories in Your New Home

As your home nears completion, we focus on the finishing touches that bring everything together. We walk the home with you to review completed work and address final details, ensuring everything feels just right. Optional furnishing and styling services can add a personal, live-in feel before move-in. You'll receive close-out documentation for your reference and convenience, so your home is truly move-in ready.

With a design direction in place, we start exploring options. We walk you through materials, finishes, layouts, and concepts that support your style and the way your home will be built. Throughout this phase, we’re mindful of budget and constructability, helping you understand trade-offs alternatives without feeling boxed in. Make Confident Selections

Once options are refined, we guide you toward final selections with clarity and support. You'll make decisions knowing how each choice fits your overall design, budget, and build timeline. We document selections clearly, coordinate with the build team, and stay available for questions along the way. By the end of this step, you can feel confident that everything has been thoughtfully chosen and ready to move forward.
